Q1. How long can the serum be used for post blending?
Ans - Once blended and activated, the serum can give your skin all its goodness for 90 days, which is much longer than you can make it last with suggested regular use. It is simply the timeline within which the serum is most powerful and effective. For max freshness and longer shelf life, store the serum in the refrigerator at 4 degrees.
Q2. What happens to my serum after 90 days?
Ans - Even after 90 days, the Vitamin C serum does not become harmful for your skin in any way, but might lose some of its potency due to oxidation.
Q3. How do I know my serum has gone bad ?
Ans - It is the inherent nature of Vitamin C to oxidize, but it’s important to know how much oxidation is acceptable to skin. Post blending, this serum is a transparent colourless liquid, which may turn pale to light yellow in colour in 3 months AND THAT IS OKAY. You know your serum is losing the potency when it turns dark brown to amber colour.
Q4. Can I use the two parts individually?
Ans - We highly recommend against this, since we have carefully formulated this serum in two parts with balanced concentrations, to ensure it is SAFE on skin and yields maximum benefits. Use only as directed.
Q5. When should I use the Vitamin C serum ? and what is the right way to use it?
Ans - To get the maximum benefits of the serum, this vitamin C serum should be used twice daily, followed by a broad spectrum sunscreen (in the AM routine). Use atleast 5-6 drops all over face and neck. Let it absorb before layering.
Q6. Is it safe for beginners?
Ans - Since it is a higher concentration of 20% Vitamin C, we suggest using this serum when you know your skin is ready for it. For beginners, we recommend our Glow revealing Vitamin C serum, which is made with only natural vitamin C, making it safe for beginners.
Q7. I have acne prone, sensitive skin. Can I use this?
Ans - To make the L-ascorbic acid stable in the product post blending, we formulate it at a low pH of 3.5 - 4, which can cause mild irritation on sensitive skin. Also, if you have acne prone skin, Vitamin C serum can cause purging and breakouts in the short term. Hence we suggest using our alternate, milder Glow revealing Vitamin C serum.
Q8. I am experiencing some tingling sensation after application. Is it normal ?
Ans - Yes! It is completely normal to experience mild tingling sensation when using this serum, since it is a high active dosage of vitamin C.
Q9. What can I use in combinations with Vitamin C?
Ans - Vitamin C works great with combinations like Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, Vitamin E, Ferulic acid etc, that mutually enhance each other's benefits to the skin. Vitamin C should be avoided with actives like Retinol, AHAs and BHAs, since they all have exfoliating properties, too much of which can cause irritation in the skin. However, you can use them in the PM routine, while using Vitamin C in the AM routine.
Q10. How to use this Vitamin C serum?
Ans - 1- Unscrew the glass serum bottle & keep the cap on a clean platform
2- Empty the liquid serum base into the bottle containing the L-ascorbic acid powder
3- Close the lid and shake it for a minute till the powder completely dissolves.
4- You might see bubbles forming during this stage which is completely safe and normal
5- Your Pure Vitamin C serum is activated and ready for use.
6- Shake well before every use. Follow it up with sunscreen every morning.
Pro Tip: For max freshness, and longer shelf store, store in the refrigerator post blending.
