Avocado is rich in fatty amino acids that intensely moisturizes hair to remove the frizzy look. It also encourages hair growth and prevents scalp inflammation. 

To apply it on your hair, make a paste of ripe avocado and olive oil. Gently rub it all over the hair and scalp as a hair mask. Wait for 30 minutes before washing it off. Do this twice a week to get voluminous, smooth, frizz-free, and manageable hair.

Who can forget eggs when talking about DIY hair care. The yellow yolk inside the egg is enriched in fatty acids, proteins, vitamin A and vitamin D that moisturizes your hair and makes it resistant to damage. As a result, your hair grows faster without hair loss and breakage.

You can make an egg hair mask by mixing two teaspoons of olive oil with two egg yolks. Apply this paste onto your scalp and let it sit for twenty minutes before rinsing it off. Remember to use cold water to wash the egg off your hair as warm water may cause an unwanted hair-omelette. 

  • Yogurt and honey

Enriched in fatty acids, proteins and lactic acid, yogurt deep cleanses your hair and scalp to clear away dead cells and let hair follicle grow strongly from the roots. It also acts as a natural conditioner to make your hair healthy. And when paired with honey - a humectant and an emollient- it intensely moisturizes your hair to make it silky and shiny. Honey is also very good for the skin, especially if you have dry skin. 

Combine two tablespoon of yogurt with one tablespoon of honey to form a paste. Then apply it properly from the scalp to the ends of your hair strands. Give your scalp a good and gentle massage and then after 15-20 minutes, wash it off. You can also use a conditioner, but make sure you apply this mask once a week for a month and you will surely see changes. 

You can also use yogurt with other hair-healthy ingredients like:

  • Yogurt and coconut milk

Coconut milk helps soothe and moisturize dry, itchy scalp while also boosting hair growth. It is packed with vitamins, iron and lauric acid that intensely moisturizes hair. 

You can make a paste of coconut milk with yogurt or with honey and olive oil and apply it as a mask on your hair. Gently massage your hair for 3-5 minutes and wash it off after 20 minutes. 

  • Apple cider vinegar

The solution to all your scalp problems is in apple cider vinegar. Whether it is itchy scalp or too much dandruff, apple cider vinegar is your cure. It has anti-inflammatory properties to tackle yeast and viruses that cause itchy scalp. 

Rinse your scalp and hair and allow it to dry. Mix apple cider vinegar and water in equal amounts and then pour the mixture into a bottle with a spray nozzle. Apply the solution directly to your scalp and after a couple of minutes, shampoo your hair. You can use this remedy at least once or twice per week.

Always wash your hair with lukewarm water. Steamy hot water can strip your hair of its oils and can leave your scalp dry. Also, choose your shampoo properly, do not use a shampoo that contains too many harmful chemicals and causes itchiness and even burning. Apply shampoo properly only on the scalp and use conditioner to wash your hair. Don’t apply conditioner on the roots. And after washing, just gently comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb. 

  • For hair styling

Do not make it a habit to style your hair every day because those hair styling products really harm your hair. Try to minimize the use of heat styling instruments and also if you are doing it, remember to use a hair protectant before styling your hair. Never straighten or curl your hair when it is wet, let it dry completely before styling. Also opt for opt for air drying instead of blow-drying your hair.

  • For hair care

Many of us do not know this, but our hair needs sun protection too. A hair sunscreen goes a long way to prevent your hair from getting damaged by harmful UV rays. Also, apply hot oil to your scalp at least one hour before you shampoo. Keep in mind, split ends are inevitable and they need to be trimmed before they destroy your hair
